As I have traveled around the country for work I have seen the homeless population and I have been guilty of walking past them as if they are invisible. They have their messages written out on a piece of cardboard with a cup sitting in front and I have walked right past them. But there was always a nagging feeling that I should do something to help them. I started researching and found that the homeless population is very diverse and many just need a help to their feet. DE Serves recognizes that everyone has struggles at some time in their life and we want to provide a helping hand and a loving heart.

I’m sharing the song lyrics to the song Invisible by Andy Conway that illustrates this simple fact very well. Here is the youtube link if you want to see a video where they used the song: https://youtu.be/2jjSPRXemvs

Invisible

We’ll take it day by day you never know what’s coming next
Oh it’s a shame they say while others walk on by like you’d expect
But it’s starting to get cold, I don’t want to be alone so as I lay my head to sleep again
I pray the lord he keeps me strong why don’t they know that this is wrong
And these are people on the streets yeah invisible

Yesterday when I was someone else I was a better me
I believed in miracles myself things I couldn’t see
Now I wish that I could change it all but I’m invisible, I’m invisible

So they walk on by who am I to judge I’d be the same
And I apologize I just need a place in from the rain
It may be easier to say you deserve to live that way for the choices that you made
But maybe I just fell too deep now could you help me to my feet
And I’ll return your love one day, one day

Yesterday when I was someone else I was a better me
I believed in miracles myself things I couldn’t see
Now I wish that I could change it all but I’m invisible, I’m invisible
